How to Specify Master Cartons for Shisha Charcoal

Review master cartons, liners and closures against storage, transit and opening conditions. Separate visible pack condition from the evidence needed to support moisture-protection claims.

Shisha charcoal master carton specification

A generic box specification is not a complete packing approval.

Link the carton to the actual cube-pack arrangement and delivery route. Separate buyer requests, supplier confirmations and measured evidence so the approved configuration can be reproduced.

01 · Product and pack fit

Design around the actual cube packs.

A shisha charcoal master carton specification starts with the product and its approved unit-pack arrangement. Identify the charcoal requirement, cube dimensions, unit-pack revision, inner-pack quantities and requested carton count. A box drawing without these inputs cannot establish fit.

Review an identified fully packed sample. Record the arrangement, gaps, contact points and movement during the agreed handling check. Include any requested dividers or inserts in the sample rather than assessing an empty carton.

If the unit pack changes, recheck carton fit and quantities. Similar artwork or the same product name does not mean the physical dimensions, weight or handling behavior remain equivalent.

02 · Weight and dimensions

Keep fuel weight, packed weight and dimension basis distinct.

Record net charcoal weight separately from gross packed carton weight. State what the gross figure includes, how it was measured and the agreed tolerance or acceptance range. Use confirmed measurements for handling and transport planning.

Specify outer dimensions in an explicit length × width × height order with units. Define whether measurements describe the assembled empty carton or the closed, loaded carton. Keep internal fit dimensions separate from external shipping dimensions.

Check carton counts against unit and inner-pack quantities. Reconcile the requested arrangement, measured gross weight and packing-list basis before release; do not substitute a generic carton weight from a different pack concept.

03 · Board and construction

Ask for a defined construction and relevant evidence.

Request the supplier-confirmed board and carton construction description, including how its specification is identified. Record any agreed strength or performance requirement together with its method and conditions instead of relying only on a phrase such as “strong export carton”.

The right review depends on loaded weight, handling, stacking and expected exposure. A board description alone does not establish performance through every distribution route. Ask the packaging reviewer which sample checks or test evidence are appropriate to the requirement.

Do not assume a particular board grade, flute, material, print method or construction is available from Unimax. Keep requested and confirmed scope separate, and document substitutions before approval.

04 · Closures and dividers

Evaluate the complete closed carton.

Define the requested top and bottom closure arrangement and the opening process at destination. Inspect the sample for gaps, closure lifting, damage and whether staff can open it without cutting or damaging the inner packs.

For any proposed divider, insert or separator, record its location, function and fit. It may change pack movement and access, but its presence does not prove that charcoal breakage has been prevented.

Review all layers together, including the inner-pack revision and any liner. Confirm supported closure and divider options and preserve the approved arrangement in the specification and photographs.

05 · Stacking and exposure

Connect the review to the warehouse and route.

Record whether cartons are handled individually or as part of an agreed pallet or loading arrangement. Define planned orientation, stacking pattern, storage duration and known handling stages. Ask who owns the load and storage review at each stage.

If stacking or compression performance matters, specify the intended conditions and request appropriate evidence with the responsible packaging reviewer. Avoid inventing a universal safe stack height from a carton photograph or a board label.

Review moisture exposure as part of the whole packaging and handling system. Visible carton condition is useful inspection evidence, but it does not establish inner-pack barrier performance or a guaranteed shelf life.

06 · Identification and marks

Match carton information to the approved contents.

Define requested product or SKU identification, lot reference, pack quantity, weight basis and destination shipping marks. Assign owners for text, artwork and physical feasibility so a late marking change does not silently change the approved pack.

Check the information against the actual contents and relevant order documents. Review legibility and placement on the identified sample and distinguish unit-pack artwork from the master-carton revision.

This guide does not establish destination-specific label compliance or barcode support. Obtain the necessary current market review and confirm supplier support before releasing text, claims or artwork.

07 · Sample and release

Approve a measured packed revision, then control changes.

Record the sample ID, product lot, packing revision, measured dimensions and gross weight, starting condition and photographs. Agree handling or transit-trial conditions, inspected quantities and acceptance criteria before dispatch.

At receipt, inspect the outer carton before opening, followed by closures, dividers, inner packs and charcoal. Separate carton damage from product damage and retain records of breakage or fines using an agreed count or mass basis.

Release the specification only after confirmed scope, evidence gaps and approval owners are recorded. Changes to cube packs, board, closures, arrangement or route require a review of whether prior approval still applies.

Master carton specification questions

Can a previous carton specification be reused?

Only after confirming that product, pack arrangement, construction and route requirements remain covered by its approval.

Is gross weight the same as charcoal weight?

No. Define net fuel weight separately from the measured weight of the complete loaded carton.

Does a board description establish safe stacking?

No. Review the loaded configuration and evidence for the specified stacking and exposure conditions.

Does this sheet define Unimax’s standard carton?

No. It records buyer requirements; supported construction, quantities and commercial scope need supplier confirmation.

Discuss your product and route before releasing the carton.

Send Unimax the country, buyer type, volume, cube requirement and application details. Include the unit-pack concept, handling route and requested carton specification, then ask which samples and checks are supported.
