OEM shisha charcoal packaging brief

A complete brief separates requests, confirmations and approvals.

Use the fields below for the actual project. Keep unsupported options open for review, and link the released brief to its exact drawings, artwork and commercial confirmation.

01 · Brief purpose

Make the buyer request clear without treating it as a confirmed option.

An OEM shisha charcoal packaging brief connects the brand owner, procurement team, designer and supplier around one written requirement. It records what the buyer wants, what the supplier has confirmed and what remains unresolved.

Use separate statuses: requested, under review, supplier-confirmed and approved for the stated scope. A filled-in field is not automatic production approval, and a blank field is not permission to invent a pack option.

This template does not promise materials, printing methods, MOQ, pack sizes, timelines, barcode support or destination-label compliance. Confirm those points for the actual product, quantity and market.

02 · Market and product

Define the channel and the identified fuel first.

Record the target market, retail or wholesale channel, buyer type, estimated order volume and expected repeat usage. State whether the concept serves lounge operators, distributors or brand retail requirements rather than assume one pack suits every channel.

Identify product/grade, cube dimensions or requested tolerance, specification reference and sample-approval record. Keep packaging approval distinct from fuel approval; a neat mockup does not establish burn performance or a production-lot result.

Where a requirement is not yet confirmed, state the buyer request and the reviewer needed. Connect updates to the same product and brief revision before asking a designer to finalize dimensions or claims.

03 · Physical packaging

Specify each level and its measurement basis.

For the unit pack, inner protection and master carton, record requested net fuel weight, count/configuration, dimensions, material requirements and closure details. Describe functional needs and ask the supplier to confirm feasibility rather than publish an unsupported material menu.

State whether dimensions are internal or external, the unit and the L × W × H convention. Reconcile pack count, net fuel weight and any quoted gross weight; packaging weight and fuel weight are different quantities.

If protection against exposure or handling damage is required, define the evidence or agreed review needed. A named material alone does not prove moisture protection, breakage resistance or suitability for a particular shipment.

04 · Artwork and content

Record files, text owners and unresolved market reviews.

List artwork filename, revision, drawing or dieline reference, panel mapping and requested print scope. Confirm which file formats and print details are supported before issuing a final release file; this guide promises no printing method.

Record requested languages, claims and warning text with the buyer’s responsible content reviewer and review references. Market-specific obligations need a separate current review; this blank brief does not supply warning wording or establish legal compliance.

For barcode requests, record code owner, supplied data, requested location and the agreed proof or verification scope. Do not assume the supplier allocates codes or provides a particular barcode service.

05 · Marks and traceability

Connect the pack concept to cartons and shipment records.

Record required shipping marks, order/product references, lot-code fields and placement requests. Ask who provides each value, where it is applied and how it will be checked. Avoid exposing unrelated customer information in reference images.

Keep carton and unit-pack artwork versions linked. Reconcile any requested carton count or gross-weight field with the physical pack definition rather than copy a number from an old design.

Confirm shipment identification and document needs through the responsible parties. This brief does not establish transport acceptance, a container loading quantity or destination-specific approval.

06 · Approval and revisions

Release only a named scope and exact version.

Name the buyer packaging approver, artwork/content approver and procurement owner, plus supplier feasibility and production contacts. Agree which proof, sample or other evidence each approval needs.

For every change, record old/new revision, changed fields, reason, affected artwork/drawing/order and approvals that must be renewed. A chat message saying “looks good” needs a traceable file and scope before it can serve as release evidence.

Keep commercial confirmation, MOQ and planned schedule linked to the confirmed brief. A requested delivery date or concept approval is not a supplier commitment to the entire order.

07 · Submission

Send the brief with open questions visible.

Submit the target market, product, estimated volume and packaging concept together with the latest drawing/artwork references. Label every attachment draft, reference or approved for its defined scope.

Ask the supplier to return supported requirements, unresolved fields, evidence needed and the current commercial scope. Retain the acknowledgement with the brief rather than rewrite unconfirmed requests as facts.

Use the private-label sample-to-shipment guide to connect packaging decisions to product, production and shipment approvals. Ask Unimax for a review of the concept and current product/sample information.
