OEM BBQ Charcoal Packaging Brief Template

Give your supplier one version of the product, unit pack, carton, artwork, tests, and approvals. Fill the fields below before asking for a packaging quotation; mark unknowns as open rather than guessing.

Before requesting a price

A useful brief distinguishes requirements from proposals.

For each field, state confirmed, proposed, or open. Attach a product sample ID, drawings, artwork, or a reference pack where available. Name one person responsible for resolving each open item.

Do not treat a reference photo or a competitor box as an approved specification. Dimensions, materials, pack count, print method, MOQ, and lead time depend on the project and must be confirmed.

Keep these headings in a shared document. Replace the bracketed placeholders with your requirements or write “open — owner: …”. Record the date and revision at the top.

01 · Market and project owner

Start with where the product will be sold and who can approve each decision.

Brand, company, and contact
Name the buyer, brand owner, procurement contact, designer, and final approver.[Company / contacts / approval owner]
Destination and sales channel
State the country or countries and whether packs are for retail, wholesale, food service, or another route.[Market / channel / importer]
Project stage and volume
Separate trial quantities from the estimated commercial order and note the desired decision window.[Sample / pilot / order; estimated quantity; timing]

02 · BBQ charcoal and unit pack

The physical product sets the limits for pack dimensions, protection, and handling.

Product reference
Identify the coconut BBQ briquette grade, shape, dimensions, approved sample ID, and applicable specification or mark each item open.[Product code / sample ID / size / specification revision]
Net weight and unit count
Record the requested net mass per sales unit and whether piece count or orientation matters.[Target net weight / count / tolerance to confirm]
Unit pack construction
Describe the proposed bag, box, or other unit pack, including material, dimensions, closure, visibility, and opening method.[Concept / proposed material / dimensions / closure]
Inner protection
Describe liner, seal, dividers, restraint, moisture protection, and acceptable movement or breakage; leave untested choices open.[Protection concept / handling condition / test needed]

03 · Master carton and shipment

Quote a packed system, not merely an attractive retail box.

Master carton
Specify proposed unit packs per carton, external dimensions, board requirement, closure, target gross weight, and handling marks.[Pack count / size / board / gross weight / marks]
Pallet or floor loading
State the intended storage and loading arrangement, stacking constraints, container type, and destination handling conditions.[Loading concept / stacking / container / constraints]
Shipping identification
Define carton labels, SKU, batch or lot reference, destination mark, and count reconciliation required by the buyer.[Carton labels / lot ID / shipping marks]

04 · Artwork and compliance review

Assign responsibility for the claims and files before sending anything to print.

Artwork files and dieline
Name the file owner, editable format, dieline version, color reference, proof type, and print or labeling route to evaluate.[Owner / files / dieline / proof / print route]
Language, barcode, and copy
List required languages, barcode owner and verification, net-weight wording, importer details, warnings, and product claims for review.[Language / barcode / claims / legal reviewer]
Approval evidence
Identify who signs off on the digital proof, printed proof, physical pack, and any market-specific wording.[Approvers / reference files / dates]

05 · Tests, release, and revisions

Say how the proposed pack will be checked and what changes trigger a fresh approval.

Pack and handling tests
Agree which checks are relevant: net mass, seal, carton integrity, packed-product movement, drop or handling, moisture exposure, and legibility.[Checks / method / sampling / pass criteria / owner]
Pre-production reference
Link the approved product, pack specification, artwork revision, physical sample or proof, and commercial order.[Reference IDs / approval date / release owner]
Change control
Record version numbers and who must approve changes to product, material, dimensions, barcode, claims, print route, or loading plan.[Revision / changes requiring re-approval]
Open items for quotation
List unknowns and the party responsible for confirming them before price, MOQ, printing, and timing are finalized.[Question / owner / due date / decision]

Brief questions

Settle the variables that change the quote.

The pack concept becomes a production instruction only after its product, format, artwork, and approvals are fixed.

01Can I request a packaging quote without final artwork?

Yes, but identify the artwork as pending and provide the product, net weight, pack construction, carton concept, volume, and destination first. A final print quotation depends on the confirmed format, artwork route, and proof requirements.

02Is this template a list of packaging formats Unimax guarantees?

No. The fields describe decisions to make. Pack materials, printing route, MOQ, production timing, and test scope are confirmed for the actual project after the brief is reviewed.

03Who approves barcode and destination-language requirements?

Assign an owner on the buyer side and identify any importer or local reviewer. Unimax and the buyer should agree what files and proof are approved for production; this template is not a legal-compliance certificate.

Project-specific confirmation

Request the quote after the brief has enough detail to price.

Unimax can review your market, BBQ product, volume, and packaging concept. Supported formats, material choice, printing, MOQ, test scope, and schedule are confirmed for the proposed order; this template does not promise a universal option or timeline.
